*The Fearless Baagh, one-of-its-kind exhibition on July 29, organized by Rajaji Tiger Reserve in collaboration with the Doon Art Council * As we observe International Tiger Day globally this Friday, July 29, Rajaji Tiger Reserve in collaboration with the Doon Art Council has come up with an informative photography and painting exhibition to celebrate the occasion.
The exhibition is being inaugurated at MuseArt Gallery in Dehradun’s Hotel Inderlok, at 6 PM on July 29 and will be attended by several distinguished guests and nature lovers. Shri Vinod Kumar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (HoFF), Uttarakhand has consented to be the Chief Guest for the occasion.
This exhibition focuses on raising curiosity among children by displaying easy-to-understand informative displays and experience-based exhibits, a first of its kind. Wildlife Institute of India is also participating in this exhibition by displaying tiger morphology exhibits that include a skull, claws and canines of a tiger, in addition to providing scientific information on tigers.
This eagerly awaited unique exhibition has raised the excitement of nature enthusiasts in Dehradun. There would be a travelling exhibition in various schools and institutes of Dehradun in the weeks ahead thus promoting the conservation of tigers and instilling sensitivity in the young minds.
Uttarakhand is home to now popular tiger reserves, namely – Corbett Tiger Reserve and Rajaji Tiger Reserve. The state has the second highest number of tigers in the country and there are at least 250-300 big cats in these tiger reserves. Rajaji Tiger Reserve is one of the nation’s most popular tiger reserves, spread over three districts of Uttarakhand.
It is predominantly known for its large population of elephants. Leopards and tigers are the prime predators of this park. As a social responsibility, Rajaji Tiger Reserve and Doon Art Council together bring forth this exhibition to the community of Dehradun. The exhibition is open to the public till August 16, 2022, at MuseArt Gallery, Hotel Inderlok following which it will be displayed in various schools and institutes of Dehradun.
